La Dauphine, Residence des Artistes Description
Ample free, on-street parking in front of house. This is a funky, old camelback Victorian with side hall, with lots of character :-)
We speak English, French, German and Danish. Ray is a native New Orleanian (Creole-French). Kim is from Denmark. Met in Copenhagen in 1998, got engaged in Helsinki, and married in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Ray was an AT&T manager for 22 years in San Francisco. Kim is a Ph.D. Molecular Biologist doing cancer research at LSU Medical Center.
Love to host pleasant people-- not difficult or picky guests :-)
Happy to host you if you are easy-going and laid back. We don't deal well with difficult, hard-to-please guests. That's not our style- we're informal. Old Victorian, renovated-- but with many things left the old way. Very individualistic rooms, designer linens and colors. Lots of amenities-- ceiling fans, central air and heat, Wi-Fi, iMac for guests use, expanded cable, movie/books library- DVDs, front porch, courtyard garden, self-serve Continental breakfast.
Nice, unique showers and baths (old, claw-foot tub in one room, tiled shower in another, etc.) Cable TV, DVD in each room. Wi-Fi throughout. Steps from Frenchmen St., French Quarter and close to Convention Center (30 min. walk, or short trolley ride).
The main reasons people stay with us are: 1) Location, location, location :-) 2) Price; 3) Helpful, knowledgeable hosts.
Ray also sells real estate.
This isn't The Ritz, and we don't pretend that it is. :-)
It's just a nice, fun, convenient place to stay-- with cheerful, helpful hosts.
A complimentary Continental, self-serve breakfast (bagels, toast, fresh fruit, granola, yogurt) is available from 8 till 10 a.m.
Kim lived and worked in Israel, and Ray lived in worked in Germany and France. We have lots of guests and friends visiting from Europe, Scandinavia, UK, Australia.
