Mentone Bed and Breakfast Description
Located at the foot of world famous Bourbon Street in Faubourg Marigny one block from the French Quarter, this Victorian camel-back double was built in 1899. The builder and original owner, Joseph Daubert, sold firewood and coal, keeping his horses and wagons on the property during the latter 19th and early part of the 20th century. Mentone was featured in the book entitled, New Orleans Architecture-the Creole Faubourgs, and it is one of the most photographed homes in the Marigny.
The suite is furnished traditionally with a mix of antiques and some contemporary pieces. There is a sitting room/kitchenette, private bath, bedroom with a queen bed, and a private entrance. The suite overlooks a Japanese garden complete with pond and goldfish.
Our self-catered, expanded continental breakfast is in accordance with city law and includes coffee, tea, mineral water, fresh fruit, hot and cold cereals, and French pastries delivered to our guests each morning.
Mentone is within walking distance to many historic sites, clubs, bars, and good music in the Quarter and on Frenchmen Street.
Charlene and Ragan, only the second owners of the property, invite you to stay, relax, and enjoy your "home away from home".
